Teaching procedures
Step 1 Pre - reading
(1) Show different kinds of transportation tools on PPT and ask students to choose in which way they come to school.
(2) Show the picture in the text on PPT and let students talk about what they could get from the picture.
(3) Explain new words and phrases.
Step 2 While - reading
(1) Fast reading
Ask students to read the passage quickly and invite some volunteers to summarize or report the main idea of the passage.
(2) Careful reading
Ask students to read the passage again with the 4 questions below. Let them discuss in groups, and then ask each group to give their answers and explanation.
How do the students in the village go to school?
Why do they go to school like this?
Does the boy like his school? Why?
What is the villagers’ dream? Do you think their dream can come true? Why or why not?
Step 3 Post - reading
(1) Finish the task in part 2c.
(2) Divide the students into several groups and ask them to make a conversation which includes the main ideas in this class and their post - reading feelings.
Step 4 Summery and homework
(1) Give them five minutes to think about the knowledge what they have learned in this lesson.
(2) Make sentences by using new words and key sentence structures.
(3) Write an essay about this passage.
