The md5_file() function is an inbuilt function in PHP which is used to generate the md5 hash value of a given file. This function returns a string on success otherwise it returns FALSE.

md5_file( $file, $raw )Parameters: This function accepts two parameters as mentioned above and described below.
- $file: It is a mandatory parameter which specifies the file for SHA1 hash.
- $raw: It is an optional parameter which specifies boolean values.
- TRUE - Raw 16 character binary format
- FALSE - By Default. 32 character long hex number.
