The investigation will be conducted by the U.S. Trade Representative under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, focusing on digital service taxes and alleged currency manipulation. This marks a key step in the administration's efforts to rebuild the "tariff wall." Previously, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected its "reciprocal tariffs" agenda, with Trump criticizing the ruling and vowing to quickly restore it, stating that tariffs are crucial for increasing fiscal revenue and bringing manufacturing back to the U.S.
