Market analysis
During the first half of May, market prices for ammonium biphosphate continued their upward trend. Raw sulfur prices remained at elevated levels and continued to rise, maintaining persistent cost pressures. Some manufacturers focused on fulfilling previously secured orders, while distributors raised their quoted prices. Operating rates among phosphate fertilizer producers declined, resulting in reduced market supply, while downstream demand simultaneously weakened. As of May 15, market quotes for 55% powdered ammonium biphosphate stood at approximately 4,250–4,400 RMB/ton in the Hubei region, 4,350–4,450 RMB/ton in the Henan region, and around 4,200 RMB/ton in the Sichuan region.
Regarding raw material sulfur: during the first half of May, sulfur prices demonstrated firm upward momentum. Recently, trading activity in the sulfur market has intensified, with downstream demand continuing to keep pace; consequently, prices are expected to maintain a predominantly upward trend in the short term. As of May 15, the benchmark price for sulfur in the Shandong region stood at approximately 7,583 RMB/ton.
Market Outlook:
Analysts at SunSirs specializing in ammonium biphosphate observe that market trends for ammonium biphosphate have recently been predominantly upward.
