On May 28, 2026, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued an announcement stating that it has made a final determination in the first expedited sunset review of the anti-dumping duties on difluoromethane (R-32) imported from China: if the current anti-dumping measures are revoked, the dumping of the subject products from China would likely continue or recur at a margin of 221.06%.

On February 13, 2020, the U.S. Department of Commerce initiated an anti-dumping investigation on difluoromethane imported from China. On January 12, 2021, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued a final determination in the anti-dumping investigation on difluoromethane imported from China.
