Price increase of $65 per ton! Middle East sulfur prices raised, domestic arrival costs soar simultaneously

Qatar's state-owned energy giant QatarEnergy has officially finalized the Official Sulphur Price (OSP) for June, with the FOB price for the month increasing by $65/ton month-on-month to settle at $805/ton. Based on current mainstream shipping quotes from the Middle East to China, the domestic import cost of sulphur has risen significantly.

According to the latest shipping statistics, sea freight costs for sulphur shipped from the Middle East to Chinese ports range from $154 to $170/ton, bringing the calculated CFR cost to $959~$975/ton; if additional expenses such as ocean freight insurance and port charges are added, the actual landing cost of the goods will rise further.

In addition to the consecutive increases in source prices and shipping costs, the Middle East sulphur supply chain is also facing logistics constraints. Affected by disruptions in the regional shipping environment, the turnaround efficiency of ocean routes has declined, and the transportation cycle for overseas sources to China has been passively extended. The slowdown in arrival节奏 has further tightened domestic spot sulphur supply, continuing to support raw material costs for the domestic chemical and phosphate fertilizer industry chains.
