On May 31, 2026, a safety accident involving illegal private mining occurred in Huize County, Qujing City, resulting in a total of 5 fatalities. In accordance with the requirements for supervised investigation, the local authorities must establish a special investigation team based on the "Regulations on the Reporting, Investigation and Handling of Work Safety Accidents," advance the accident verification work at full speed, clarify the direct causes and underlying issues of the accident, and strictly conduct subsequent accountability and handling in accordance with regulations.
